The Automechanic repairs nearby items after a period of time. The uses of an automechanic can be multiplied (like the fabricator) to make the speed of repairing faster. This structure is crucial for constantly raided/attacked bases- particularly defensive ones. The automechanic has an approximately 4-second delay before it starts to repair a damaged object. It uses some iridium per second to repair a structure.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Very useful for very large bases if placed tactically and bunched together to speed up repairment
  • Is small enough to be placed under surface level and repair things without being damaged

Cons

  • Like the fabricator, cannot repair more than one thing at a time
  • Very costly and should only be used if the user has a reliable iridium supply
