The High-Power Photon Lancer (HP-PL) is an H.L.R Small Arm created in the S.S.I.M for 800 iridium. It has the highest range out of any firearm, and is capable of killing an unarmored enemy from across the map with a single headshot. However, it has a low fire rate and a high iridium usage (100/shot)
The HP-PL looks exactly like the Sniper Rifle, but with the grey parts colored black instead.
Overview
In essence, the HP-PL is a sniper rifle with its best and worst qualities significantly amplified. The extreme range makes it the ideal candidate from taking the competition from a distance where they can't easily counter you. This is unfortunately ineffective against shields, so only exposed targets can be attacked.
The weapon deals 80 basic damage and 130 headshot damage per shot. However, it takes 7 seconds to reload.
Firing the HP-PL costs a whopping 100 iridium, so be sure to have a distributor close for a quick refill, or upgrade your iridium tank using the Upgrade Station. In addition, the weapon takes several seconds to reload.
Like the Sniper Rifle, the HP-PL has a magnifying scope, that can come in handy when hitting opponents at far distances.
This can theoretically be used in close range, but the lethargic reload time and high cost will give enemies an easy chance to kill you. Make sure to have extra weapons on hand for close-up encounters. Due to its long range and iridium usage, it is best used at high elevations and for base defense, killing enemy players approaching your base.
