The Well Pump is an excellent extractor of iridium early and late game. Typically, bases which employ many Well Pumps for their iridium supply are called 'Sprawl Bases'. Additionally, all Starter Islands generate one well pipe, making the Well Pump an excellent choice for a starter base's first extractor.
As of December 23rd, 2018, this and other extractors now have a display showing how much iridium they are producing each second.
As of April 5th, 2019, this and other extractors produce a sound effect.
